Two for One

With college being the social atmosphere, students often look to activities like movies and dinner to entertain themselves. Often students struggle to decide between the two and both are fairly expensive as well. When forced to make a decision you can often be left hungry or simply regret not seeing the new movie you've heard so many good things about. However, what if you did not have to choose between dinner or a movie? What if you could spend your night highly entertained and without hunger? Well the Alamo Drafthouse allows you to do just that.

The Alamo Drafthouse, located at the intersection of 410 and 281, is perfect for all ages. It has a wide variety of delicious meals and very good service to go along with it. The Alamo Drafthouse shows all of the latest films. When all is said and done you will not have spent more than you would have going to the movie theater and buying popcorn and a soda. Though it may seem weird to imagine, the environment is just like any other theater if not better and it is certainly not interrupted by the service; so whether you are on a bit of a time crunch or simply just want to save a few bucks the Alamo Drafthouse is the ideal place to visit.

Search for Thrill

There are often time when a college student has a craving for thrill and adventure. Sometimes a college student needs to get away from the constant studying. Well fortunately because the city of San Antonio has such a strong tourist audience, it harbors many unique locations of attraction. Places like Sea World and Fiesta Texas are great examples of these location and provide quite the thrill.

Sea World is wonderful theme park for all ages. The park includes a variety of unique sea creatures and exciting roller coasters. This park is also none highly for it's shows like Shamu. Although the cost can seem a little high for most college students, it is definitely worth it.

Fiesta Texas is another exciting location to visit. It is a theme park that is filled with a large variety of roller coasters that flood the park and provide the perfect excitement for a college student. This park also contains it's own unique shows like Sea World. The park often decorates according to the season or holiday like Halloween. Although all this seems like it should be as expensive as Sea World it is actually half the price if you utilize their available coupons.

So whether you are looking for simply an exciting day or just want to explore a part of the city, Sea World and Fiesta can be perfect locations for many students visit.

Basketball for All

The process of adjusting into college as a freshman can be a challenge. One of the biggest adjustments is the increase in free time. Of course, you should use this time wisely studying, socializing, and being active, but even all that isn't enough to keep you busy all the time. So today I will mention a place of entertainment that is not only very fun and a good time killer for students who don't always like to party, but also affordable.

5th Row Seats at Spurs' First Playoff Game of  2011
If you are a fan of basketball a Spurs game can be a perfect outing for a group of college students. The Spurs have special deal on ticket prices for college students called "SpursU". This deal allows college students to buy any tickets for any games that are left unsold. The tickets are only $30 for lower deck seats if you're a big basketball fan and $5 for upper deck seats if you aren't the biggest sports fan, or if you simply are just low on cash . Being the Spurs fan that I am, I went to quite a few games myself last year. For several of these games I sat excitingly close to the court, including seats on the 5th (playoff game) and 11th row. These two seats alone could be worth up to a $1000 and I got them for only $60. The San Antonio Spurs play a large part in the community of San Antonio, being the only major professional sports team in the city. Due to their past decade of extreme success they are only that much more treasured.

The games can be fun and exciting for anyone who goes. They allow you to feel closer to the community of San Antonio and who knows maybe you'll make a friend or two. Whether you are a sports fanatic like me or someone who really is not that into basketball, you can still find tons of fun at the AT&T Center.

Delicious Destinations

When coming to a new city it can be challenging finding new restaurants to visit, but in this post I will describe a couple restaurants that should be tried by every new resident to San Antonio.

Rudy's Bar-B-Q in my opinion epitomizes true Texas bbq. This local bbq restaurant cooks all of their meats in an old fashion fire pit. Their menu includes a variety of tasty food including: brisket, turkey, sausage, cream corn, and beans, just to name a few. And to top it all off they have a delicious homemade sauce that makes everything that much better. Rudy's is a place that any college student can afford and a place that everyone must try.

Schilo's Delicatessen is a little German restaurant that is located in downtown San Antonio and has been there since 1917. They serve a large variety of German meals and they have delicious split pea soup and sausage. But what keeps the crowd coming is their homemade root beer. Each root beer is served in an ice cold mug, and its taste is so delicious you'll find yourself drinking two or three glasses before your food even gets out. If you are looking for something affordable and unique Schilo's is definitely the place to try.
